the first 100 years
In 1912, just three months after Dominion Steel Castings Co. Ltd.
was founded, a small group of optimistic steelmakers poured the
company’s first heat of steel. It was New Year’s Eve, and the start of
something big. Over 100 years, the “best little steel mill in the world,”
first represented by a simple “D” insignia, touched the hearts of
Hamiltonians, rose to the top of corporate Canada and captured the
attention of the global steel industry.
