          She first took up in a tiny office in the Lister Block in
        
        
          downtown Hamilton, but soon moved on site in the
        
        
          company’s first head office, a small wood frame house
        
        
          near the foundry at the foot of Ottawa Street where
        
        
          this photo was taken around 1915. Aldridge spent her
        
        
          lunch hours rowing around a small inlet in Hamilton
        
        
          Bay with a group from the office.
        
        
          Inset: Hugh McCallum held the distinction of holding
        
        
          the company’s first ever employee ID, Clock No. 1.
        
        
          McCallum was nicknamed “Number One” and
        
        
          first started with Dofasco in 1913.
